She took extra time to make sure I not only learned and understood anatomy , but she also gave great memory tools, made awesome videos, and supported students even outside of designated class time.   • Mrs. VW was a LEGEND at our medical school. Everyone was always trying to get her to lead group review sessions because she gave the best little tidbits about how to LEARN the anatomy to apply it and not just memorize it. She always made it clear that variations in anatomy are common, but there are landmarks and associations in the body that almost always orient you no matter how different from text book things look. I will never forget the brachial plexus because of the way she taught us to draw it. She breaks things down and tells you it’s easy- and then suddenly it does feel so much easier. Not only is she a phenomenal teacher with wonderful content and pedagogy, but she is a delightful person!

  • I as a medical student I never attended lecture unless Ms. VanWinkle was teaching because it was basically a comedy show and her teaching style was so efficient that the information stuck the first time. I haven’t had anatomy in 5 years and I still reference her memory hooks in residency all the time. 10/10 anatomist would recommend.

  • Mrs. Van Winkle is truly one of the greatest anatomist out there. She is extremely knowledgeable, passionate, and kind. I went from a 79% to 99% on my Clinical Anatomy exams in just 3 weeks with her help. She’s an anatomy wizard!

She was very knowledgeable and answered every question that my professors couldn’t. All of my anatomy knowledge comes from Mrs.VanWinkle and I took 2 different anatomy classes prior to this master’s level anatomy. She is amazing!!!!!

  • Van Winkle is simply amazing! She has a way of connecting all the dots effortlessly and in a way, that for me was easy to understand quickly. For my program, we only had an hour with her but she would take the time to stay late when needed. Van Winkle is one of the best teachers to have!
